A Comprehensive Review of the ONENICE 5 Inch Twin XL Mattress in a Box

If you've ever been on a hunt for a mattress that combines comfort, durability, and ease of setup, you've probably come across a plethora of options, each claiming to have unique features. The ONENICE 5 Inch Twin XL Mattress in a Box stands out with its innovative design, offering a combination of a soothing pillowtop layer, gel-infused memory foam, and a durable support base. With its CertiPUR-US certification and fiberglass-free construction, this mattress promises a safe and comfortable sleep experience. But how does it really fare according to those who've already welcomed it into their homes? Let’s dive into the details.

Quality and Comfort

Pros: Exceptional Comfort for Various Users

One of the standout features of the ONENICE mattress is its comfort level, largely attributed to the gel-infused memory foam and the pillowtop layer filled with 3D snow down alternative filling. A parent highlighted how firm yet comfortable the mattress felt when purchased for their children's floor bed. They appreciated that, despite its 5-inch thickness, the mattress provided a cushion that seemed much thicker than it actually was, providing excellent value for money.

"For being a 6 inch bed it feels thick. I lay with them and don’t feel like I’m on the floor." - Satisfied Parent

Another user, who regularly used it in their guest room, mentioned that the mattress provided medium firmness and was very comfortable, surpassing their expectations.

"This 5-inch mattress is an exceptional choice. I needed a guest bed and this mattress surpassed my expectations." - Happy Host

Cons: Discrepancies in Thickness

However, not all users found the mattress to align perfectly with their expectations. One buyer pointed out that the mattress did not fully expand to the advertised 5 inches, particularly noting discrepancies between the mattress's middle and edges.

"I purchased a 5 in this mattress. You can check my pictures but it's barely 3 in..." - Disappointed Buyer

Unfortunately, this issue was compounded by the fact that returning the mattress was difficult due to its compressed nature, highlighting a significant drawback in case the product does not meet expectations.

Usability and Features

Pros: Easy Setup and Versatility

Setting up the ONENICE mattress is acknowledged by many as being particularly easy and hassle-free. The mattress is designed to expand fully within a few days, requiring little more than unboxing and placing it in the desired spot.

"The mattress fully expanded within a few hours. It works well with my memory foam for enhanced comfort." - Satisfied Customer

The versatility—fitting various bed frames including box springs, foundations, and adjustable bases—is also a highlighted advantage, allowing for adaptability in different room setups.

Cons: Initial Odor and Lifting Concerns

While the setup might be straightforward, some users reported an initial odor that took days to dissipate. Though the chemical smell is common in memory foam products, it’s a point worth noting for potential buyers sensitive to odors.

"It's CertiPUR-US certified, without any substance are harmful, but there's a slight foam smell initially." - Review Summary

Moreover, removing the cover for washing proved to be quite a challenging endeavor, implying the need for infrequent cleaning unless absolutely necessary.

Durability and Long-Term Use

Pros: Designed for Longevity

When considering mattresses, longevity is a key factor. Several reviews have indicated satisfaction with the ONENICE mattress's durability, even affecting the overall improvement in sleep quality and health conditions like bursitis due to its supportive nature.

"My boyfriend is 5'9" and 250 lbs and finds this bed very comfortable. His sleep and bursitis have improved since I bought it..." - Satisfied Partner

For parents transitioning their children to larger beds, the mattress's sturdiness is seen as a positive, with a hope that it will grow with the child.

"I bought this mattress for my son as he transitioned from a crib to a big boy bed. It works fine and is much more comfortable..." - Hopeful Parent

Cons: Potential Sagging and Uneven Wear

Concerns regarding the mattress's ability to maintain its form were mentioned, with users noticing sagging or uneven wear over time, which might affect perceived durability.

"The mattress did not fully expand and there's a lump that's never gone away." - Dissatisfied Customer

This presents a caution for buyers concerned about a consistent level of comfort and support over extended use periods.

Conclusion

The ONENICE 5 Inch Twin XL Mattress in a Box is a product that packs a punch with its comfort-focused features, ease of setup, and versatile use possibilities. While it flaunts several commendable attributes like the gel-infused memory foam and CertiPUR-US certification, it is not without its flaws. Customers have given positive feedback on its initial comfort and value for money, but concerns about incomplete expansion, odor, and return logistics persist.

Based on these customer experiences, the ONENICE mattress can be a great asset for guest rooms, kids' spaces, or as a temporary solution. However, potential buyers should weigh these insights against personal needs and expectations, especially regarding sizing fidelity and ease of maintenance.

In summary, the ONENICE mattress appears to deliver a satisfying sleep experience for its price, as long as buyers are aware of its potential limitations and prepare accordingly.

I needed a guest bed and this mattress surpassed my expectations given its outstanding value

This 5-inch mattress is an exceptional choice. I needed a guest bed and this mattress surpassed my expectations given its outstanding value. It is very comfortable, with a medium gauge weight, and fully expanded within a few hours. It works well with my memory foam for enhanced comfort.

His sleep and bursitis have improved since I bought him this bed for our anniversary last year and we got rid of the 25 to 30yo couch he had been sleeping on

Based on your reviews of it not expanding all the way and videos on how the mattress flexed, it started to resemble a solution

Since nobody sells foam futon mattresses that are over "6" inches, I decided to take a gamble. Based on your reviews of it not expanding all the way and videos on how the mattress flexed, it started to resemble a solution. Picked 9 inches since you all implied it was ~1.5" short from the advertised size. Original was 8" and filled with springs and nasty fiberglass. Wore out very fast, started hurting my back. Unfolded, it gaps in the middle. Literally all are made this way unless you custom order or settle for the thin boi. At best you get some stacked foam pieces wrapped in whatever dog hair they use. Those pictures were scary. Mattress came and was very light. The bottom layer unexpanded is very thin. maybe 3". On the box there is a 10 in the model # so I may have gotten that inadvertently vs 9, no idea. In any case, I unfurled it in place and waited. Took a while to fluff up, but eventually it did. Final height around 8" as expected. Back is a little tall, but we're not entering a beauty pageant. It folds and unfolds and of course is a little heavier. Good enough for me. Factory, you have a huge missed opportunity here...

You can check my pictures but it's barely 3 in and that is in the middle where there is a lump that has never gone away

I purchased a 5 in in this mattress. You can check my pictures but it's barely 3 in and that is in the middle where there is a lump that has never gone away. I've had this mattress for almost 2 weeks now so plenty of time for it to reinflate.....It comes folded over in half and compressed. The middle "fold" has never gone away and it is clearly smaller on the edges than in the middle.....because this is a compressed mattress they are almost impossible to get it back in a box to return. I have a 3 in memory foam topper that I use on top of it. It is for my disabled daughter and she is very small so I'm making due but if I could return I would. On a side note, if you are buying for the option to remove the cover and wash it.....it is a workout to get off and on.....like out of breath workout. Not something I would take off ever.....Not a good choice for us.....sorry.

 Really firm, really comfortable

Early reviews are positive. Really firm, really comfortable. Ask me a year from now - but it is in a guest room so may last a lifetime. Very nice for the price

 I know

I bought this mattress for my son as he transitioned from a crib to a big boy bed. I know.. it's a bit big for him, but my hope is that it will withstand the test of time and he will grow into it. It works fine and it is much more comfortable then his crib was, but I expected it to expand a lot more then it did. The mattress is a lot thinner then what is advertised and we did wait about 72 hours to let it rise.
