Rolanstar Twin Mattress Review: Affordable Comfort in a Box
In the ever-evolving landscape of comfort and convenience, the Rolanstar Twin Mattress stands as a beacon of modern ingenuity and affordability. This particular model promises a cozy night's sleep with its 8-inch gel memory foam composition, and comes complete with a waterproof mattress protector. Certified by CertiPUR-US, this mattress ensures a fiberglass-free design along with thoughtful elements like premium super cold gel and bamboo charcoal memory foam for unparalleled breathability and naturally deodorizing properties. With multiple configurations available, it positions itself as a versatile choice for all heights of beds. But how does it truly stand against the tide of scrutiny from those who have tucked themselves into its promise of restful slumber?
Pros and Cons: A Customer-Inspired Narrative
When buying a mattress, one of the key indicators that prospective buyers often look to is the experience of others who have already made the purchase. Selected customer feedback paints a fuller picture of the Rolanstar Twin Mattress, highlighting its strengths and shedding light on potential drawbacks.
Quality and Comfort
The mattress’s quality and comfort have been commended significantly by its users. One customer, initially uncertain about purchasing a mattress in a box for their child’s upgrade to a twin bed, was pleasantly surprised. They found the mattress to be incredibly comfortable, noting that with an additional pillow top cover, it transformed into a bed they wouldn’t mind sleeping on themselves.
“It's firm enough, worth the price, and fits perfectly on the frame,” said another pleased customer who opted for the 10-inch version. It's evident that the mattress consistently delivers on its promise of comfort and support, affirming its medium-firm feel, which aims to cater to various sleep positions—be it side, back, or stomach.
However, some feedback highlighted concerns with consistency in size expansion. One user indicated that their 6-inch model only expanded to about 5 inches fully after two days, impacting their satisfaction slightly. Despite this, they mentioned that the mattress remained comfortable and supportive for their child’s needs.
Usability and Features
The Rolanstar's practicality begins right from its packaging. Customers have praised the mattress’s ease of assembly—vacuumped and boxed, it's a cinch to set up with straightforward instructions.
One of the standout features mentioned by multiple reviewers is the inclusion of a mattress protector. While most found this addition beneficial as a shield against spills and accidents, it was not universally appreciated. A couple of customers observed that the mattress protector's thickness detracted from the mattress's comfort and breathability, feeling quite hot against the skin.
“It's definitely waterproof, but not breathable, feels very hot against your skin.”
This means that users seeking a cooler sleep experience might want to consider alternative protectors to pair with this otherwise commendably breathable mattress.
Durability and Longevity
Durability was another factor praised by those who bought the Rolanstar mattress. It does appear to be made relatively well, impressively made evident for a bed from a box. Reviews also suggest that its material construction—free of fiberglass—adds an extra layer of assurance and safety.
Despite these praises, potential concerns about the longevity of the mattress emerged as it may not hold its height consistency if the expansion process is not fully successful. Nonetheless, it seems to hold its form and function adequately for both children and adult use, although adults who are looking for long-term use might consider opting for a thicker version for prolonged comfort.
Cool Sleep and Support
This mattress makes no small claim regarding cool sleep and support—and, for many, it delivers. Incorporating bamboo charcoal gel memory foam, this model leverages natural elements to enhance the sleep experience. One satisfied buyer simply expressed how "nice it is to sleep on it," clearly noting the restful and supported sensation gained from its design.
Another reviewer shared: “Expanded quickly and feels firm but comfy.” This succinct feedback encapsulates the core appeal of the mattress—the effective melding of quick practicality and lasting comfort.
Conclusion: A Final Verdict
In summary, the Rolanstar Twin Mattress is largely celebrated for its affordability, relative quality, and impressive comfort. Its design caters to many common consumer concerns with high marks in categories from ease of setup to the added-value waterproof protector. However, a few buyers noted issues regarding full expansion, and the thickness of the protector was critiqued for interfering with the intended cooling effect of the mattress.
To those considering a convenient, cost-effective sleeping solution with notable advantages, the Rolanstar Twin Mattress certainly warrants consideration. Its minor setbacks are often circumstantial and overshadowed by its strong performance in comfort and usability, making it a solid option for families looking to provide a comfortable sleep experience without breaking the bank.
In this evolving world of mattress-in-a-box solutions, Rolanstar offers something genuinely refreshing—a promise of restful slumber, at a price that won’t keep you up at night.

Comments from Amazon:
What a lovely mattress, I been sleeping better! It's so nice to sleep on it. It's firm enough, it's worth the price, I was surprised how cheap it was and I got the 10 inch one It's so nice. Fit nice and perfect on my frame. Honestly just get it. Also it fiberglass free!
Expanded quickly and feels firm but comfy. Love that it came with a mattress protector. Looks well made and good quality. Happy with this purchase! The price was fantastic too!
Our 7 year olds mattress was very old, so it was time for a new one. This particular mattress (the 6 inch version) was almost half off when I purchased it and you absolutely can't pass that kind of deal down considering it also came with a waterproof mattress cover. Once it arrived I opened it per the included instructions and tool provided, and let it puff back up for 2 days. I will say it didn't have any terrible smell, and while it did puff up mostly well I don't think we ended up with a full 6 inches which as of right now is my only complaint. Looks like around 5 inches at this point. Even so, it feels comfortable and supportive without being too firm. I'm not sure if it would be good for a full size adult for an extended period of time, I'd probably get a thicker one but for a kid or spare room it's great. My daughter says it's very comfortable. For the price honestly it's very good in my opinion and seems to be made relatively well.
Comfy mattress seems to be waterproof with the cover. Good price.
The size was perfect for the twin size bunkbed. It’s comfortable. The quality is good. It comes with one sheet that You can zip it out and wash if it gets dirty. It’s firm steady. The foam was comfortable.
Very comfortable. I was kinda skeptical about a bed in a box but my expectations were beyond met. Highly recommend
I've never purchased a mattress in a box online, but it was time for my 3 year old to move up to a bigger bed and I was not about to spend $800 on a toddler's bed. So, I took my chance on this mattress with it's persuasive price and good reviews. It shipped quickly and my son slept on it that night after it had arrived. It had already expanded a lot. By a couple days it was at the full 10". I had also bought a pillow top mattress cover to give it some extra fluff so I'm not sure how the mattress feels without it, but I can say I wouldn't mind sleeping in his new bed at all, it feels very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the waterproof protector. It's definitely waterproof, as it is a very thick one. Too thick, it takes away from the comfort of the bed and is not at all breathable, feels very hot against your skin so we had to remove it and will be purchasing a different one. But all in all this mattress is a heck of a bargain, go ahead and get it!
