so first thing I want to point out, it's a lot firmer then one would expect given its roll away nature. Just the right amount of alienation from the floors pure hardness but not overly soft either. quality seems to be good and having tested it for a month now it is the best sleep I have ever had. It's been around a month so I figured I'd write a review. It's been great! I recently got into floor sleeping after moving (*cough* because it was cheap *cough*) because of some YouTube videos I'd seen and decided to give this one a try. I sleep with it directly on a small rug, no frame, and I use normal fitted twin sheets. It's been great! A little firm if you're not used to sleeping on a floor mattress, but not bad at all and I've been sleeping great. I weigh 200 pounds and am a side sleeper, but it's held up well. It was also super easy to set up, I literally just had to open the bag it arrived in, which was vacuumed tight and super compact. I was nervous about the size it would actually be when it arrived, but the pictures it shows are accurate. It's exactly what I was hoping for. If you are new to floor sleeping and don't want to feel any of the floor at all, this is pretty good, but it can be a little firm on my hips or shoulder if I sleep on my side. I still sleep well and this hasn't been a problem for me. It inflated pretty much fully after a day of being out of the bag and had no funky or weird smells. Thus far, 5/5. I do however recommend watching some YouTube videos on it as they can be informative on how to prevent mold from extra humidity and lack of air flow.
Final Updated Review: My husband convinced me to do a replacement first and see if we get the same issues. It arrived promptly, but in a completely different color than what we chose (teal -> gray). Am I going to deal with returning again for that? No, but I will dock a star for that, because it is just one more thing that went wrong with this order. So we laid it out again to let it fluff up and did not touch it for 24 hours. Fluffed up decently, about 4 inches high. We put the cover they provided on. So far, the kids find it comfy and I have not seen any damage to the fabric like with our first one. One thing I didn't mention before is that it comes tightly rolled in a flimsy black bag. I use this futon as a bed with the idea of being more minimalistic in lifestyle. I weigh 185 pounds and have had no issues with this futon. I don't feel any sinking in the middle of the night and it seems like it will hold up well. However, I have a blanket covering it as well, but this serves a purpose to keep it clean more than cushioning. They do recommend you let it sit and breathe for a couple days in the sun so it fills out fully. But this will happen no matter what even if you use it right away. This futon bedding is great for a bed if you don't desire a cloud to sleep on. But I prefer this bedding and will probably purchase more of these in the future as guest bedding or for camping. One thing to keep note of though, the cover it comes with is pretty cheap and will probably need to be replaced if you are not gently with the zippers.
I have it since almost 2 years and it's good, a bit thicker than the other futons I slept in. I also like that it's black. Its storage bag is easy to tear so be careful
I love it! I purchased a queen-size pink Japanese mattress. I’ve been eyeing a few for a while and finally decided to go with this one—primarily for the color and secondly for the comfort. The size in the picture doesn’t do it justice; it’s a great fit for me since it’ll be just me and my cat sleeping here! The full thickness hasn’t set in yet, as it takes 48 hours to expand completely, but so far, I highly recommend it. Thank you!
