DreamCloud 14" King Mattress Review: Luxury Hybrid Gel Memory Foam
Introduction
The DreamCloud 14" King Mattress is an innovative addition to the world of luxury hybrid mattresses. With a marriage of gel memory foam and innerspring coils, this mattress boasts seven premium pressure-relieving layers that promise a restful night's sleep. Not only does it offer a generous 365-night trial period, but it also comes with a forever warranty, ensuring your investment is protected. Certified by CertiPUR-US, this mattress guarantees safety and durability. But how does it stack up in the real world, with users who have tested its claim of plushness merged with supportive firmness?
The Unboxing Experience
The setup is as easy as unboxing and watching the mattress decompress, a process that can be accelerated with some gentle walking or sleeping on it.
Customer Insights
A common theme among reviews is the ease of setup. Users appreciate the convenience of the mattress being delivered in a box, and many found that the mattress inflated fully within three days without any lingering chemical odors. A user recounted their anticipation in setting up their king-size DreamCloud, noting, "I let it lay out for 3 days before dressing it. No real harsh smells, just a slight odor that diminished. It is a delightful bed and I am a back sleeper so great for me."
Comfort and Support
Medium-Firm Feel
The mattress claims to offer a harmonious blend of plush comfort and sturdy support. It's crafted with a soft top layer and a firmer core, making it ideal for a variety of sleeping positions.
The Good
Several customers laud its comfort, particularly side sleepers who struggle with pressure points. One user shared, "The mattress is very plush/cushy on top, but when you lie down, it has a medium firm core of support. Hubs and I have both slept well with no pressure point pain on shoulders when side-sleeping, but also good lumbar support when on backs."
The Not-So-Good
However, the experience has not been universally positive. For some, especially those expecting a truly firm mattress, the sinking sensation in the top layer was a letdown. "If I got too close to my husband, I’d sink into him and have to army crawl my way back up to higher ground," a reviewer noted. This sinking feeling, particularly with heavier couples, led to discomfort and disturbed sleep.
Durability and Longevity
Built to Last?
With a forever warranty, there's an implied promise of longevity. Yet, can users anticipate this mattress living up to long-term expectations?
Positive Feedback
After several weeks, many users still report satisfaction, stating they are sleeping better with fewer interruptions. A satisfied customer said, "We are a month and a half in and still super happy. This is worth the money and if you are on the fence I'm here to tell you to get the bed!"
Negative Insights
Conversely, not everyone shares this optimism. A significant concern is the mattress's zipper durability upon moving it, as one user experienced a break during setup: "Biggest gripe is after I unpacked it and unraveled it, the zipper broke when I was lifting the bed onto my frame." Another concern is the heavy weight, making repositioning or moving the mattress challenging without assistance.
Conclusion
The DreamCloud 14" King Mattress stands out with its hybrid construction, offering plush comfort and firm support to a significant extent. The 365-night trial and forever warranty add a layer of security for potential buyers.
Strengths:
- Comfortable blend of softness and support for many sleepers.
- Good for side sleepers prone to pressure point discomfort.
- Convenient delivery and setup process.
Weaknesses:
- Softness may not appeal to those preferring firmer mattresses.
- Heavier individuals or couples may experience excessive sinkage.
- Heavy, making movement difficult, and occasional durability concerns.
Final Verdict:
With a 4.0-star rating from over 500 reviews, the DreamCloud mattress continues to be a strong contender in the luxury hybrid segment. However, while it offers great initial comfort and a significant trial period, prospective buyers should weigh their personal firmness preferences and sleeping style before committing. If you prefer a softer mattress with hybrid benefits, this could be your dream solution; if a firmer feel is desired, further consideration is advised.

Comments from Amazon:
Buy the mattress! This brand is the one! It took me a while to research which one to buy and after looking into different brands Dream cloud is definitely the one! So comfy, nice balance of soft and firm. Only thing is it is very heavy! Wait at least 3 days so it can fully inflate. I'm using it on a platform bedframe and it is the perfect hight. We are a month and a half in and still super happy. This is worth the money and if you are on the fence I'm here to tell you get the bed!
Unfortunately, this mattress was very comfortable as a queen, but not as a king. I have been trying this return it and after 2 weeks, I am still waiting to receive information on mattress pick up.
Yes, so I’m one who researches and researches. I did that for two months so you know once I made this decision I was throughly in agreement with my purchase. It arrived in a tattered box that had been through a lot but the old sport held up. It was chipper and new on the inside. I let it lay out for 3 days before dressing it. No real harsh smells, just a slight odor that diminished. It is a delightful bed and I am a back sleeper so great for me. I bought a king in anticipation of having a life long husband one day….. how’s that! Cheers!
Quite happy with the bed overall, i get my best sleep now, it is quite heavy so will need two people to lift it feasibly for sure. Biggest gripe is after i unpacked it and unraveled it, the zipper broke when i was lifting the bed onto my frame, which wasnt very elevated at all. so its gonna be a pain when i do have to move it later on for sure.
I took a risk buying a mattress I hadn't physically seen, but my old mattress was 12 years old and toast. I searched for a combination springs/foam mattress, as that was what I already had and had served me well. I chose this one for that reason, and upgraded in size from a queen to a king. I am beyond pleased with this mattress. It is very soft but supportive, which is what I need for my problematic back and hips, and my cats also love it. I replaced my original bedframe with a low platform bedframe, so I do not need a box spring. Buying a mattress is a challenge when you can't see it in the store, but this was a risk worth taking. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who needs a mattress on the softer side.
We bought this mattress with high hopes it would be a gentle sink into bed, with firm support. It’s a hybrid after all. Nope. We let the mattress air out for 12 hours. I expected some more then normal sinkage, but one night one I told my husband, “ I really want to like this bed, but I’m already sinking into you. “ I had hopes after 72 hours it would firm up. For reference, I’m 150lbs and my husband is 250lbs. Several reviews also said they were around our weight and had no problems other than the edge support, or lack there of, which I was willing to overlook. Night one, I slept terribly. So did my husband. But we were gonna give it the ol’college try. Over the next three nights, sleep quality varied. I would sleep ok, he wouldn’t and vice versa. Night 4 we were ready to return it. After searching online regarding beds in a box, we decided to try for 30 days. Well, after 12 days of waking up like my shoulders had been in a vice grip all night ( I’m a side sleeper and stomach sleeper) I called it quits. If I got too close to my husband, I’d sink into him and have to army crawl my way back up to higher ground. My husband, would wake up in a literal hole. He wasn’t even able to turn over without fully lifting his body from the bed, find higher ground, and try to get comfortable. He tried on his back, his side and stomach and nothing was comfortable. He woke up with worse back pain than sleeping on the 30 year old mattress we had been sleeping on. Needless to say, we went out and bought a true firm bed with springs and a pillow topper. I have returned this bed. The mattress is pretty and I like the pattern that’s stitched on top. It didn’t smell when we got it and it was very well packaged. It was cool to see it unfold and puff up. But to sleep on it? Absolutely not. If you are looking for a firm mattress that has a pillowy or gel foam top, do not get this one. You will sink inches into it with not a support spring in sight.
This mattress was ordered in a hurried move due to a POD scheduling issue when we had to bump our move-in date up by a week and needed something to sleep on, so I had concerns about ordering one that I had not really fully researched or checked out. But it is GREAT! The mattress is very plush/cushy on top, but when you lie down, it has a medium firm core of support. Hubs and I have both slept well with no pressure point pain on shoulders when side-sleeping, but also good lumbar support when on backs. I knew we wanted a hybrid mattress with individual coils for some firmness but also a topper layer with some softness, and this is very much that Goldilocks combo. Afer sleeping on hundred of hotel beds (travel for work and leisure ALOT) I would say that of all the matresses we've used, it is definitely in the top 5-10% only out-paced by a few really luxe splurgy hotel experiences. I don't know if it will hold up over time since we've only had for a couple of weeks, but we've noticed we wake less in the night (in our 50s.) It terms of firmness, it is not what I would consider a traditionally medium firm because the top layer is very soft, but the inner core is very supportive and doesn't leave you sleeping in a concave position. This mattress was about half the price of our last purchase of a major brand from Macy's and I like it better.
