Nothing transforms a restless night into a serene slumber like finding the perfect mattress. The Suiforlun 14 Inch Hybrid Gel Memory Foam and Pocket Coils Innerspring mattress promises to do just that, providing a blend of support and comfort with its seven premium layers, promising an invigorating start to your day. With features like a Euro top for extra cushion, a cooling Bamboo Rayon cover, and zoned pocket coils for targeted support, this mattress aims to be a comprehensive solution for those seeking a perfect balance between softness and firmness. Now, let's delve into the real-life customer experiences that unveil both the strengths and the shortcomings of this premium product.
First Impressions and Quality
When it comes to initial impressions, many customers have been pleased with the quality and construction of the Suiforlun King Mattress right out of the box. However, handling the mattress isn’t a task for the faint-hearted. As one customer noted, the mattress’s hefty weight—over 100 pounds for the king size—made it a formidable opponent when moving it into position, suggesting that assistance might be necessary for those with limited strength or staircases to navigate. Another user echoed this observation, humorously lamenting accumulating a set of muscles just from moving it.
Pros:
- Weight Signals Quality: The substantial weight of the mattress implies it is made from durable, high-quality materials.
Cons:
- Heavy Handling: Moving and positioning the mattress can be challenging for some, especially in homes with stairs or narrow spaces.
Comfort and Support
When it comes to hybrid mattresses like the Suiforlun King Mattress, most customers are seeking that sweet spot between cushioning comfort and supportive firmness, a pursuit in which this mattress seems to excel. One user, who has transitioned from a traditional spring mattress to this hybrid option, appreciated the balance between memory foam’s body-conforming properties and the robust support offered by the pocket coils. The mattress was rated medium-firm by another user, ideal for those who dislike the feeling of sinking too deep into memory foam. This medium-firm category was further affirmed by a 360lbs customer who found it highly supportive and comfortable, noting that it helped ease her lower back pain without feeling too squishy.
Pros:
- Comfortable Hybrid Composition: The combination of gel memory foam and pocket coils offers a medium-firm feel, enhancing comfort for a wide range of preferences.
- Effective Pressure Relief: Users report waking up refreshed and pain-free, thanks to the mattress's targeted support zones.
Cons:
- Initial Firmness Transition: Some initial users have reported back stiffness during the transition from a fully spring to a hybrid mattress, which often resolves after a few weeks.
Features and Usability
The Suiforlun mattress shines with its thoughtful features designed to make sleep more comfortable and restorative. Its Bamboo Rayon cover, praised for being soft to the touch, is designed to enhance cooling, an appreciated feature among hot sleepers. However, there were mixed reviews regarding the motion transfer. While some users noted the mattress minimizes movement, allowing them a peaceful sleep when their partner or pets moved, others reported a dip forming over time, suggesting possible long-term durability issues—a bowl-shaped indent disrupting comfort.
Also, despite coming vacuum-sealed and taking anywhere from 24 to 72 hours to fully decompress, users appreciated that it arrived with minimal to no odor, making the setup a breeze.
Pros:
- Cooling Cover & Airflow: The Bamboo Rayon cover contributes to a cooler sleep experience, ideal for those who overheat at night.
- Minimal Off-gassing: As noted by several customers, the absence of any potent smell right after unpacking made for a pleasant first experience.
Cons:
- Variable Durability: Some long-term users reported indents forming, suggesting potential durability concerns.
- Crease on Edges: A temporary crease from packaging was noted, which generally fades over time but prompted cosmetic concerns for some users.
Durability
Durability is a frequently debated aspect of the Suiforlun King Mattress. Feedback varies, with some users expressing satisfaction over its longevity, maintaining its comfort and structural integrity even under the weight of heavier sleepers. One happy customer, with a combined weight of 550lbs with their partner, noted its lasting strength without sagging over a year of use. However, others have expressed dissatisfaction upon finding a noticeable dip forming, impacting their sleep quality and instigating discomfort over time.
Pros:
- Reasonable Longevity for Price: Many customers have praised the mattress's ability to withstand regular use over an extended period while staying comfortable.
Cons:
- Potential for Indentation: There have been complaints about a permanent crease and subtle dips appearing in the mattress surface over time.
Conclusion
The Suiforlun King Mattress appears to deliver on multiple fronts, from its initial quality feel and balanced support to its cooling properties. However, it is not without its detractors, with some finding durability to be inconsistent. Whether supporting a solo sleeper or accommodating a pair, the mattress seems able to handle varied needs with impressive bravado, particularly when considering the price point versus performance offer.
Would we recommend the Suiforlun King Mattress? For those seeking a medium-firm mattress that deftly balances cushioning and support, and who aren't easily perturbed by handling the substantial weight of a mattress or potential long-term indentations, it is a strong contender. The 120-night trial and 10-year warranty further sweeten the deal, offering a degree of reassurance for those with durability concerns.
Ultimately, if durability is a significant concern, potential buyers might consider their preferences carefully, but for most, the Suiforlun King Mattress seems to be a plush, supportive leap towards nights of blissful rest.

Comments from Amazon:
This is a great mattress. Heavy, Heavy, Heavy. The ex wife got the tempur-pedic, I had to purchase a new mattress . This mattress, for the price is actually better and more comfortable than my old mattress. It’s extremely firm. When you lay on it you sink a couple of inches, and then vawumba, you stop sinking and feel this incredible cushiony support, it’s really comfortable and firmmmm. If you have back issues , this mattress gives you incredible support. I rate my sleep quality a ten now and wake up energized. I waited 72 hours to put weight on this mattress after opening it. It came rolled up and really compressed. I recommend you give it time to properly decompress.
It's so firm and wonderful!
Ok, I so I pondered on purchasing this mattress for 5 weeks, after reading 2 reviews on "the best mattress for heavy people" it was #3 on both but had the best ratings and reviews out of the top5. (Obvi they take affordability into consideration, but both came with links to this product) I am 360lbs, female. So I need support, as well as comfort, and one that will last more than 3 years. This is the thickest I've gone14 inches, I usually get around 12. It has a lot of support, i have lower back pain, it has helped. The memory foam is sturdy, the springs are slightly rickety, but I'm sure it's just because its new. It doesnt sink easily, when I sit/lay on it, so I am comfortable and feel confident with the thickness. It came vaccume sealed in a box, double plastic. It opened up great, however there is a permanent crease around the entire edge of the mattress, from being compressed. I figured it would eventually fall out but after 2 weeks it hasn't yet. Overall I think it's going to be a pretty good mattress. I'm decently happy so far. I will be updating in a few months. Fingers crossed Okay, july it's been 6 months. It hasn't sunk in in any spots. Probably the best part so far! , I rotate it every month, but the memory foam has lost it's firmness, the crease is still there, all of the pockets in the pattern on the top are still fluffy. I am pretty happy with this purchase. I dont think it will last 5 years but I think the time that it has will be pleasant. I reccomend this product. It's now Nov 2022, and it has lasted and has not caved in, it's just as sturdy and comfortable as it was once I broke it in. Very happy with this purchase. Myself and my partner equally about 550lbs, and it is still going strong. I think it will last another year.
I'll start this with the fact that I am 280lbs, so buying a mattress online that wasn't going to instantly give to my weight was a little scary. The box that came, while heavy was decently small and it was wrapped up well. It also puffed back up really quickly and didn't have any strong scents. I've only been using this for a few days and will update again in a couple months, but so far this mattress is great. It's firm enough that I'm not sinking so far that I can't move or get out (like with my ex's memory foam mattress.) But it is soft enough that it's cushy and has give. It sinks maybe an inch or 2 when laying on it. Motion transfer hasn't been an issue so far either. I don't feel the cat (15lbs) or my partner (200lbs) moving around in the night. I have the normal back stiffness of going from a spring mattress to a foam/hybrid one, but no pain. A+ so far. Especially for the price. Edit: 6 MONTH UPDATE Still great! No issues or regrets. Everything above holds true. :)
I've owned this mattress for just under 7 months now. I toss and turn all night, with my back aching. There is a visible bowl shaped dip in the middle of the mattress. My toes keep falling sleep and I am living on ibuprofen. My camping air mattress provides a better night's sleep than this mattress.
Having unpacked it recently, this is more of an initial impression review. This mattress arrived a day early, which was impressive considering the current circumstances with the outbreak of COVID-19. Immediately, I could tell this was likely a quality mattress due to its weight. The queen mattress weighs over 100lbs, so those smaller, less fit, or people going up stairs might want to acquire some assistance in handling the box. I had a short distance to move it on a single level, so I wrestled it into place in my living room where it would decompress. Upon opening the box, you'll find an envelope containing the warranty card with basic instructions, and a cheap little letter opener, which broke when I snagged the lower layer of plastic in the wrapping. I recommend a good quality pair of scissors for opening the bag. It comes in a box containing a vacuum plastic bag that is rolled up with another layer of plastic. First, cut and unroll the external layer, unrolling the vacuum bag in the process. Avoid puncturing the vacuum bag. Position the mattress where you want it, then cut through the end of the vacuum bag. It doesn't explode or anything, but it expands fairly rapidly. The paperwork that came with it says to give it 24 hrs to expand, but on the Amazon listing it says 72 hrs. Within several hours it had expanded to nearly 14.5 inches in total height. There is no discernable off gassing from the foam, so it smells rather neutral. The bamboo fabric is very soft and feels great. There are two handles on each side for easy manuevering. The foam nearest the top surface is very soft, but laying on it reveals that there is good support underneath. Some people complain about lack of support on the edges, and while they are not especially firm, they are good enough for me. They give enough to keep me on the edge without falling off, even if I do sink down a bit. Laying flat, near the edges reveals there's plenty of support, that is, you won't roll off the bed if you lay towards the edge. I also feel no tendency to roll to the center. I would rate the mattress in the medium firm category - it feels like a nice balance between softness and support. This mattress feels more comfortable than my last conventional queen size mattress purchased from Costco for a similar amount 15 years ago. It's a similar thickness, but the fabric is higher quality and it's softer, yet supportive. As it arrives, I think most people would find this a great option for a new or replacement mattress. The initial build quality is impressive and it appears to be a great value. The 120 night guarantee and the 10-year warranty go a long way towards easing my mind. Let's just hope I don't need to use it, and if so, the customer service is as good as the reviews suggest. If I have any issues as it ages, I'll be sure to update this review.
